Services for Nursing Homes

The podiatry team at Faculty Physicians Knoxville serves over 30 assisted living and long-term care facilities in East Tennessee. With an emphasis on comprehensive and preventative foot care, the nursing home team evaluates and treats all patients on-site at each facility. Services provided include toenail debridement, toenail procedures, callus debridement, treatment of rashes and skin conditions on the feet such as tinea pedis (athlete’s foot), and lower extremity wound care among others. When applicable, nursing orders are left for each facility after every visit to not only treat conditions on the feet but to also prevent future complications.

Wound Care

As part of primary care, Faculty Physicians Knoxville also provides head-to-toe wound care for long-term and short-term assisted living facilities in Knoxville. Currently, Sam Wood, FNP is actively providing effective, efficient on-site wound care treatments to minimize appointments for those residents. Appropriate orders are left for nursing staff to care for the wounds in-between visits. Patients are seen every 1-2 weeks depending on the severity of the wound. If you are a facility interested in wound care, please contact Faculty Physicians Knoxville.
